Public Engagement

For BSG LIVE’25, two public engagement events are being planned to engage with the local community with the aim of leaving behind a positive impact.

Guts UK’s Colin the Colon

In collaboration with Guts UK and the Glasgow Convention Bureau, Colin the Colon will be positioned at Glasgow Central train station on Thursday 26 June for the public to engage with.

People can’t help but stop and take a look when they see Colin the Inflatable Colon. They are keen to come over to see what he is all about and try to diagnose all his different diseases. He creates much-needed conversations surrounding our gut health, and we love him for that.

The British Liver Trust mobile unit

The British Liver Trust will position their mobile unit outside the main entrance to the SEC on Tuesday 24 June. This will be available for anyone, including the public passing by, who want to find out more about their liver health or are worried that they may be at risk of developing liver disease.

They can take a liver health screener to see if they might be at increased risk of liver disease. They can also have a free, liver scan. This is a quick, simple, and painless test, carried out by one of the specialist liver nurses.
