Industry Symposia – Reckitt
Rethinking DGBI through the lens of gut permeability
Tuesday 23 June 13:30-14:00
This symposium will explore the evolving understanding of Disorders of Gut–Brain Interaction (DGBI), focusing on the emerging role of gut permeability and barrier dysfunction in symptom development and disease progression. Challenging traditional paradigms, the session will provide a fresh perspective on how advances in gut barrier science are reshaping clinical thinking, diagnosis, and management strategies.
Join Dr Santos for an expert-led session that will provide a refreshed understanding of DGBI pathophysiology, review the growing body of evidence linking gut barrier integrity to disease mechanisms, and explore the relationship between intestinal permeability, inflammation, and symptom generation. The session will also highlight the clinical implications for patient management, including evolving treatment strategies such as xyloglucan + pea protein.
Speaker:
Dr Javier Santos, Section Chief of Gastroenterology, Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, Barcelona, Spain
