The range and complexity of endoscopy procedures are increasing. Improving the quality of endoscopy sedation is important for patient safety and procedural efficiency. 

For complex procedures, deep sedation with propofol or general anaesthesia is ideal, but access to anaesthetist-supported sedation is limited in the UK. In this symposium, we will explore advancements in oxygenation strategies (high flow nasal oxygen) which can not only improve the safety and efficiency of propofol sedation but also “standard” conscious sedation using midazolam and fentanyl.
