Treatment goals and the developing landscape in UC: what factors are important to consider?
Professor Jimmy Limdi will lead a 30-min presentation including a 10-min live Q&A that will explore the evolving treatment landscape in UC, consider the options beyond conventional therapies, and assess the long-term treatment goals for patients.
The session will review clinical findings and demonstrate how some patients with UC do not currently have their disease well controlled with conventional therapies. The symptoms, biomarkers, endoscopic or ultrasound findings, as well as other indicators, that might suggest the need for advanced UC therapies will be reviewed. The distinction between disease activity and severity in UC will be examined and key long-term treatment goals explored, including steroid-free remission for patients with UC. Finally, there will be an overview of the MOAs of different therapeutic classes for the treatment of UC, and their positions in the inflammatory pathway.
This meeting has been organised and funded by Pfizer Ltd and is intended for UK healthcare professionals.
