What is the evidence-base supporting the manipulation of the gut microbiome in colonic health and disease? And how does this apply to Gastroenterologists’ daily practice? This symposium will help Gastroenterologists better understand, appraise, and interpret the evidence concerning the gut microbiome in colonic disease, and will review the latest evidence in gut microbiome manipulation – from FMT to live biotherapeutics – while exploring the implications this may have on Gastroenterologists’ daily practice.

  • Dr. Mohammed Nabil Quraishi: Consultant Gastroenterologist at the University of Birmingham, Clinical & Scientific Advisor for UoB’s Microbiome Treatment Centre, and member of the BSG Gut Microbiota Health Expert Panel.
